GP Visit Cards

Reminder to our patients regarding GP Visit Cards

Our records show a large number of eligible patients have not got a valid GP Visit Card. People entitled to GP visit cards are:

  • Age 0-8 (Not Means Tested)

  • Age 70 + (Not Means Tested)

  • Those in receipt of carers benefit or carers allowance (Not Means Tested)

  • Single person living alone earning less than €418 per week

  • Single person living with family earning less than €373 per week

  • Married or cohabiting couple (or lone parent with dependent children) earning less than €607 per week + additional allowances


GP visit cards cover the cost of visits to your GP and visits to GP out of hours service.
